Grace Brega
Assistant to the General Director and Production ManageR
Grace Brega first joined the Opera Baltimore team turning pages for Turn of the Screw in 2022 before joining the staff as a Peabody Institute LaunchPad intern in 2023. She entered the position of Production Manager for the first time with the 2024 production of La bohéme, and in 2025 joined Opera Baltimore’s administrative staff as Assistant to the General Director.
Grace has been a dedicated theater performer from a young age, including her passion for production and dramaturgy. In 2016, Grace self-produced her first project, The Complete Works of Shakespeare (abridged) [revised], and since has served in as wide a variety of theater roles as possible - asst (fight) choreographer, cast representative to administration, asst stage manager, dresser, and run crew. In 2025, Grace made her assistant directorial debut at Opera Baltimore in Maria Stuarda alongside director Haley Stamats.
Grace has a particular passion for the historical study of theater music, and has studied historical performance techniques at the Peabody Institute and American Shakespeare Center. She believes that by finding the unwritten stories of the past, we can find the traditions of collaboration and community which will create opera’s future.
Grace earned her B.M. in Vocal Performance from Vanderbilt University where she studied under Dr. Gayle Shay and Jennifer McGuire. Grace studied voice at the Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University under Ah Young Hong and Rachele Gilmore. She has completed additional trainings at New England Conservatory, American Shakespeare Center, and Lucca Italian School.
