don Giovanni

Mozart’s most dangerous charmer opens the season.

October 9 & 11, 2026
Fully-Staged with Orchestra
Stephens Hall (Towson, MD)

Overview

Music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte

Don Giovanni has spent his life counting on the room to let him through.

He has the name, the money, the charm, and the nerve. He walks into homes, weddings, bedrooms, and parties as if every door was built for him. Some people object. A bunch of people get hurt. Others warn each other. Still, the music keeps moving, and Don Giovanni keeps getting away with it.

Until he doesn’t.

Mozart’s Don Giovanni is fast, funny, dangerous, and unnervingly alive. It begins with a masked intruder, a killing, and an escape. By morning, Don Giovanni is already chasing the next woman, while the last ones start comparing notes. Donna Anna knows his voice. Donna Elvira knows his pattern. Zerlina learns fast. Masetto knows enough to be angry. Leporello, Giovanni’s servant, knows everything and keeps getting dragged back into the mess.

What makes this opera thrilling is not simply that Don Giovanni behaves badly. It is that Mozart lets us hear why he gets away with it. The charm is real, the danger is real, and the consequences are coming.

Opera Baltimore opens the 2026–2027 season with Don Giovanni fully staged with orchestra at Stephens Hall.

Some men think they can charm their way out of anything.

Don Giovanni is about to test the theory.
